Step 1: Seal the crack in the foundation with epoxy resin sealant
We repaired a foundation wall that had an 8-foot crack that caused water to enter the basement during heavy rain. To permanently repair the crack, we used Polygem’s epoxy injection system, a molten concrete repair kit (about $60).
Each kit includes a two-piece epoxy explosion sealant and two 10-ounce pieces. Tubes of Liquid Concrete Repair (LCR), a viscous epoxy resin resin supplied in the form of kit cartridges and seven plastic injection ports that carry the LCR deep into the crack. Each kit has enough material to repair a teardrop that is 1/16 inch wide, 8 inches deep, and 8 feet long.
Check that the crack is dry before you begin. If the crack is slightly damp, blow dry it and then wait 15 minutes.If it continues to be dry, finish the fix. The water will however continue to seep into the crack when the moisture returns, and you will need to wait for it to dry on its own.First, clean the crack from loose concrete, paint, or old crack putty with a wire brush. Remove dust and dirt with a purchased vacuum cleaner.
Step 2: Locking the injection ports
Press 3-in. (10d) Work in the nails up to the halfway point of the break, at a distance of 12 cm. apart. They are used to align injection ports with a crack.
Step 3: Mix the epoxy sealant
Open the two containers with epoxy sealant and scoop up an equal amount of Part A and Part B.
Use two separate swabs to avoid contamination. Mix the two pieces on a scrap board with a clean spatula; Blend until an even gray color is obtained.

Then, mix a slightly larger batch of epoxy sealant and apply it to the entire crack with a 1 1/2-inch-wide spatula or spatula. Divide the caulk by about 1/8th thickness and 1 inch. on both sides of the crack. Also, coat the entire seal of each injection port with a burst sealant so that only the enlarged neck area is visible. Smooth the sealant and blend the edges with a brush impregnated with alcohol.
Step 6: Inject epoxy resin into the crack
If the other side of the wall is accessible, check that the crack is clean. If this is the case, seal it and seal it with crack sealant. Allow the sealant to cure for 6-10 hours before injecting the epoxy. Mix the LCR epoxy resin thoroughly with the piston rod supplied. Insert the LCR cartridge into the sealing gun. Remove the gun and plug in the port you just filled. Now insert the tip of the cartridge into the leaking hole and pull the trigger to release the epoxy. Repeat this process for the remaining ports. Connect them all before moving on to the next one.
Step 8: Cut the injection holes
Allow the LCR to harden for five days and then use a saw to cut the necks of the gate. If desired, you can repair cracked doors with a small crack seal.
